BE A SLEEPING BEAUTY – Importance of a Regular Sleep Routine

Sleep is an essential beauty tip your skin craves and to give you that glow. Want to wake up with youthful, glowing skin every day? Try to get a good night sleep for about 7-8 hours. At night skin boosts blood flow to the skin and also produces most of the collagen, which is essential for healthy skin. If you trouble to get good night sleep, here are few tips from us. It’s all about calming down the body and mind.

A refreshing shower/bath

A refreshing shower/bath will cleanse your skin and gives a fresh and clean feeling which will help relieve any muscle pain and also helps clear your mind of thousands of thoughts from during the day. Try to find a soothing and moisturising shower gel. It is also important to follow a nighttime skincare routine. But try to keep it short, as longer routines will not work in days your extremely tired. And maintain a set of clean clothing specific for nighttime.

(Infuse your bath water with our organic virgin coconut oil and few drops of lavender or essential oil of your choice to avoid dry skin after a long soak)

Tea or Warm Beverage

If you feel awaken by a shower then try some warm milk and honey (try to add turmeric for additional benefits) or a fruit tea of your choice- we love Chamomile tea or Sencha green tea. A shower and some warm beverage is always a good tip for getting a good night sleep.

Read or Listen to some soothing music

If you still awake, try reading a book or listen to some soothing music. And if you watching TV, try to watch it at least one hour before sleep. You also want to try and simply keep your lights as dim as possible, so investing in dimmer switches is a good idea in the long run. If your reading, use a book reading light.

Meditate/Pray/Gratitude

If your mind is still busy and struggling to calm down after you get to bed focus on your breath for few minutes and try to avoid any other thoughts or feelings. Being grateful for making it throughout the day is also a great practice to keep.

Aim to make sure your bedroom is very dark as light can penetrate your eyelids. You can use a sleep mask to avoid disrupting your melatonin production and circadian rhythm. Poor sleep inevitably leads to health problems so try and get into the habit of getting 7-8 hour sleep a night and woke up to a happier, healthier you. Keep up the good habits.
