Cure Your Acne By Eating Fruit

Fruits are super saviors of our skin. They can beat any skin issue like no else. So, if you like fruits then you can beat the acne blues with these very easily. As for others, you better develop liking for these and eat/use them in the right manner to get rid of the annoying acne sitting on your beautiful face.

Below are the fruits you must try to cure acne:

Apples

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, even acne. Yes, that’s true. It is full of water and healthy nutrients to keep skin healthy inside out. The fiber content in the fruit is pretty high making your intestines clean, a key aspect needed to keep the skin clear. Juice extracted from the fruit can be used as a cleanser and toner. It maintains pH balance of the skin and can also be combined with apple cider vinegar as a topical treatment for the small pimples.

Bananas

Don’t go bananas over our choice of fruit against your battle with acne. The fruit provides water to the body, it is rich in antioxidants, Vitamin C and B. The peel which is usually considered useless is the one that must be used against the pesky zits. Just rub the inner side of the fruit on the acne prone skin for 10 minutes. Never rinse it immediately, let it stay and clean it, only before going to the bed. Make it a part of your daily routine, until your skin is completely clear.

Berries

Bury those acne with berries. Berries is a powerhouse of nutrients, Vitamin A, B12, C, E, potassium, magnesium, manganese and fiber. All these in some form or the other help skin remain healthy. Eat it for curing acne from the inside and apply it on the skin to cleanse it from the outside. If hormonal imbalance is the reason for breakouts, this is a perfect fruit to check insulin and glucose levels in the blood. Remember, Vitamin A is used in a lot of topical acne treatments acne and it is anti-inflammatory too.

Grapes

The skin of this fruit contains a compound to help you in your crusade against acne. This compound, resveratrol inhibits the growth of acne causing bacteria. It reduces oxidation. Though it is a high glycemic index food which is known to trigger acne, but when combined with a topical cream such as benzoyl peroxide, the results are unbeatable. Wherein benzoyl peroxide kills acne causing bacteria, resveratrol inhibits bacterial growth and doesn’t let them pop up till a long time and keeps your skin clear.

Lemons

When life throws lemons at you, grab them and use them to heal those flare-ups. The acidic part of this yellow fruit cleanses skin. It removes the dry skin which is the reason behind clogged pores. In addition to this, it is good at building collagen and maintaining elasticity of the skin. Apply lemon juice with a cotton ball on the acne. It works as an astringent and kills the bacteria.

Papaya

The unripe fruit has been a reliable and effective acne treatment since ages. An enzyme, papain, helps in minimizing redness caused by acne. Its flesh can be used to open up the pores and drains out the clogged impurities. When a mashed papaya is applied topically on the acne afflicted skin, its antibacterial agents fight the bacteria causing acne. Let the pulp remain on the skin for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off. A ripe papaya contains beta carotene, an antioxidant that can help in producing healthy skin cells.

Tomatoes

Yet another healing remedy lies in the wonderful red fruit tomato. Besides Vitamin A, C and K it is rich in lycopene, an antioxidant and our main healing ingredient. It makes acne go away by drying them. So, next time when you see small one trying to come up, apply tomato juice on it. There are two methods to do it. One, rub tomato slices and two, mash it and apply the pulp. Both are equally effective. Just leave it for an hour (never more than that as it will make your skin extremely dry). Lycopene also aids skin in the regeneration of new cells. Being anti-inflammatory, it checks inflammation caused as a byproduct of those acne appearing on your skin.

Oranges

We all know that Vitamin C is good for skin, then how can we not include Oranges in our fight with acne. It fights free radicals and boosts collagen production. Orange peels make an even better cure for acne. 100 grams of orange peels contain 136 milligrams of Vitamin C. Dietary fiber too is considerably higher in the peels than in the whole fruit. Drink juice to rejuvenate skin from within and use the pulverized peels for a clearer skin. Make a face mask and apply it directly on the skin. This averts excess sebum production and lightens skin texture too.
