Does Preparation H Under Your Eyes Get Rid Of Wrinkles?

You may have heard that the hemorrhoid cream, Preparation H, can also be used to reduce wrinkles, reduce fine lines, and give smoother skin underneath your eyes. Well, if you have a bottle of Preparation H manufactured in the United States, you’re out of luck. The FDA previously required the reformulation of Preparation H to exclude Live Yeast Cell Derivative (LYCD), also known as Bio-Dyne, which was responsible for the skin benefits under the eyes. The FDA simply determined that this ingredient was not effective at treating hemorrhoids.

You would have to buy the Canadian (or European) version of Preparation H to receive the formula with Bio-Dyne. This version is sold as a cream or an ointment. Both are equally effective, but the cream is recommended for the face because the ointment is heavier and greasier. While this version is still marketed as a hemorrhoid treatment, it is claimed to be an inexpensive and quick acting wrinkle cream.

But does this hemorrhoid treatment really remove or reduce wrinkles and do the results last?

Consumers claim online that it is certainly fast acting at reducing puffiness and eliminating bags underneath the eyes. As far as wrinkles, it appears that the results vary with some consumers claiming a significant reduction in wrinkles while others claiming only a minor reduction. However, it is not clinically proven to have long-term lasting effects with eliminating wrinkles.

If you are looking for a temporary reduction in wrinkles underneath the eyes and decide to purchase the Canadian or European version, Preparation H may provide some benefit.
