An IPL or Intense Pulsed Light facial is a non-invasive treatment to rejuvenate your skin. It uses this light to reach very deep into the epidermis which causes your body to make new cells and with new growth your skin will look youthful. You can get this facial on any part of your body. It is typically for your arms, hands, legs which are usually directly effected by the sunlight. This treatment allows you to make your skin look younger, snapping away the wrinkles, acne scars, terribly obvious veins that you want to avoid showing off. It is also FDA-cleared and patented to provide amazing results in skin conditions such as: rosacea, bad acne, unsightly birthmarks, and it also helps eliminated unwanted body hair.
The IPL doesn’t cause the same effects as other treatments. Some leave a lot of redness, puffiness, and may last a lot longer than the effects of this procedure. There is no slicing or dicing, and no injections. Some of the effects may cause a little bit of redness initially, but it fades and you will be able to go back to your every day life in a jiffy. There is no need to be put under anesthesia, just a numbing cream is added. The temporary pain is like a quick slap of a rubber band, nothing major. It is a very simple procedure. The recovery time is beneficial. You could go out on a lunch break and go right back to your busy schedule afterward, just a little more rejuvenated. There is definitely something to say about that.
You should always go to an accredited person to have anything cosmetic done to you. There are doctors, skin care specialists, and there are always Medispa’s that you can go to for this treatment. This is also varies state to state. Some places just don’t do IPL yet, they aren’t accredited or certified to do this treatment. Make sure you check that the place that you are getting IPL is accredited, that they have a certificate. No long-term disasters please!
The effects lasts a few years. There are usually 5-8 treatments which take between 15 minutes to 30 minutes to complete. They span out one treatment every 3 weeks or so depending on what treatment that you get. This varies depending on what you are going in for and the extent of the condition that you have. You will notice a difference in your skin after the first one and improvements thereafter. Upkeep treatments aren’t necessary, but in order to maintain rejuvenation going in for an IPL facial after a few years is suggested to be beneficial.
The cost once again varies from state to state. Nationwide it is approximately $375.00 per treatment, the minimum cost of an IPL facial is $250.00 and the maximum amount is upwards of about $500.00. “Anyone who has age spots or dark spots, freckles, broken capillaries, tiny blood vessels, or wrinkles can benefit from an IPL photo facial. This system will work on any skin type or pigment, and the results are compelling.” (http://www.aestheticedge.com/ipl-photofacial-torrance.php)
