Milk of Magnesia For Acne

Acne is a skin disorder which can affect anyone in any age. Mostly it attacks in teenage but many people have acne in their late 20’s or 30’s. There are many reasons behind acne like hormonal changes, menopause, reaction of any drug or cosmetic and etc. Some people get rid of their acne after some time with out any help of medicines but many people’s acne is so stubborn that they cannot get rid of their acne in any way in their whole life. There are many treatments available to treat acne but they are not effective for everyone. There are some more treatments available which are not designed for acne but they work for acne sufferers, Milk of magnesia is one of them.

What is milk of magnesia?

Milk of magnesia is hydrating laxative use to control over activity of stomach which causes constipation. It contains naturally occurring mineral magnesium. Its chemical formula is Mg (OH) 2. As its milky white color that’s why its is known as milk of magnesia. It is available in liquid solution to take orally or in tablet form as well.

Milk of Magnesia for Acne:

Now the most interesting thing about this product is that it cures acne as well if you use it as a topical treatment. As acne is usually problem of oily skin so all those people who has oily skin can use this product to control their skin oil as well. The product is very affective for all types of acne like blackheads and cystic.

How it helps Acne:

Milk of Magnesia is magnesium hydroxide which is alkaline in nature. Due to its alkaline nature it neutralizes excess acid of skin which causes acne. For oily skin it absorbs excess oil. It also has disinfecting properties which keeps blemishes away. If you don’t have oily skin neither you have acne then avoid using milk of magnesium as it will be very harsh for your skin.

How to use it:

Shake the bottle well; with the help of cotton ball apply the solution on your skin. If your skin is not too oily and you don’t have severe acne then you can apply it only on T-zone. Let it dry and then wash it off. Usages depends on your skin condition like if you have sensitive skin then you can try twice a week and if you have oily skin then use it every other day. If you are noticing improvement in your skin and your skin is getting use to it then you can increase number of applications like daily to twice a day.

Side Effects:

There are no side effects reported. People with sensitive skin may experience some dryness and tightness if they use it more then necessary that’s why it is strictly advised that start using it twice a week and then gradually increase.

Milk of magnesia is a good alternative of other harsh treatments. Many people have got rid of their acne by using milk of magnesia. It’s very affective and very cheap in price, that’s why it worth a try.
