Ringworm Creams

The most useful handling for roundworm in humans is anti-fungal creams. Ringworm shows up on the human skin in the form of a red ring and is very contagious. Healthy skin may appear in the middle of the red ring. The outer flesh can be crusty and elevated. It is really not painful but very itchy. The most common complaint with roundworm seems to be the itching.

Since tinea is not a worm or an insect but a type of fungus, anti-fungus creams work very well to cure the infection. In pets there are also dips and shampoos available for treatment. Average ringworm is treated with creams in man but sometimes oral medication is required. Over the counter creams can sometimes cure most kinds of tinea. Athlete’s foot is also the same fungus as ringworm just as is jock itch they just get different names do to where they occur. All three of these conditions can be treated with OTC medicines. Creams and ointments that are available without an Rx typically contain miconazole or clotimazole in them. Lotrimin, Tinactin and Monistat are some of the brand name creams available. Lamisil is another brand name emollient that contains a different treatment named Terbinafine. These creams and sprays will all require you to wash and dry the roseola area 1st. Next spread the emollient or spray the treatment on and around the infected area. It is important not to stop the medicine simply because your symptoms have decreased or gone away completely. With most products you need to continue the handling for two to four weeks.

If your rash has not improved within at least two weeks of treatment it is time to go to your medical provider. Your private doctor has many other ways to help you get rid of this condition. One such medicament is known as allylamines. It comes in creams, pills or gels.

Ringworm can also be seen under the nails or in the scalp. A fungal nail infection attacks a finger or toe nails or the skin under the nail. It may be more difficult to treat these nail infections. Polishes, creams and lotions are however available. Prescriptions are needed for some of these though. Pills are the most effectual nail fungus treatment. An anti-fungal pill is the most formidable discourse for tinea of the scalp as well. Ringworm on the scalp can affect the hair and end in some loss. Rx creams are used as well for scalp infections.
