Toenail Fungus Home Remedies Are Best For Killing Fungus

Also known as Onycomycosis, toenail fungus is very common almost in all countries. Nail infection is usually caused by fungal organisms underneath the nails. The nails that are infected with fungus may become discolored, thick, and brittle. The infection can be annoying to anyone when it shows symptoms of discolored look of the toenails. Gradually the infection may develop cramps and the nails may look ugly. You cannot cure the nail fungus overnight by any means. However, on noticing any symptoms of toenail fungus, you can use certain home remedies which will work effectively.

There are a bunch of other home remedies for toenail fungus. Do you know that you can also treat toenail fungus with henna? Here’s what you will do – get a bunch of henna leaves, make a paste out of the leaves and then put it over the surface of the affected nail. Henna has germicidal properties that kill fungal infection.

Banana can also reduce the growth of the fungus. Get a yellow-colored ripe banana and mash it together with neem water (neem water can be prepared by boiling neem leaves with one glass of water; wait for 15 to 20 minutes until the concoction becomes concentrated). Apply this on the affected area and then allow it to dry. Wait for an hour or so before washing it away.

Another good homemade remedy has something to do with tulsi juice. Tulsi juice is made by grinding tulsi leaves. Mix tulsi juice with lime juice and apply it on the affected nail morning and evening — this method not only cures the fungus but also makes your toes more beautiful.

The juice of an onion is also a good remedy for fungal infection. Slice an onion and rub it all over the affected toenail. This should get rid of the toenail fungus for good.

By and large the most effective of all home remedies to cure toenail fungus is turmeric powder. Make a paste of the powder and apply it on the affected nail two times a day. Applying turmeric powder regularly will soften your nail and take away the organisms. Turmeric also has the ability to cure foot cracks.
